Background
Our client is a US-based healthcare company specializing in rehabilitation and patient mobility products. Their merchandise specialists rely on a Windows tablet application to look up product information, generate quotes, manage orders, and support customer workflows – all in the field.
Over time, the existing application fell behind. The architecture had aged, the UI was not built with touch interaction in mind, and performance issues were affecting day-to-day productivity. The client needed a complete overhaul.
Task
Our task was to redesign the application from the ground up: modernize the technology stack, rebuild the UI for tablet and touch-based interaction, and optimize performance. We had to do this all without disrupting the business workflows that specialists already depended on.
The key priorities were:

Challenge
The project came with a compressed delivery window, and a full redesign had to land on schedule without breaking the workflows the sales team used every day.
On the technical side, the original application was not designed for touch-based interaction. Reworking navigation, layout, and controls for tablet use required careful UX decisions at every layer.
At the same time, the app needed stable and efficient local data management: SQLite had to handle offline-capable workflows reliably without sacrificing responsiveness.
Modernizing the architecture to .NET MAUI and .NET 9 meant rebuilding core components while ensuring the new stack performed well on the target hardware.
Solution
UI/UX redesign for tablet
We redesigned the application interface with a focus on usability and tablet-friendly navigation. Touch targets, layout hierarchy, and navigation flows were rebuilt from scratch to suit the way merchandise specialists actually work – on the floor, with a tablet in hand.
Architecture modernization
We migrated the application to .NET MAUI and .NET 9, replacing the aging stack with a modern, maintainable architecture. The new foundation gives the client a codebase that is easier to extend and align with future platform updates.
Workflow optimization
We improved the core specialist workflows: generating quotes, emailing quotes to customers, reviewing quote history, and creating orders. Each flow was streamlined to reduce friction and minimize the number of steps needed to complete common tasks.
Performance and local data management
We optimized application performance throughout, with particular attention to local data handling via SQLite. The result is a stable, responsive experience that holds up under real-world usage on Windows tablet hardware.
